Good causes, good people, good work

At CSN Reliable Auto Body Ltd., we do more than just collision repairs. We’re active in the community and support many Comox Valley causes and organizations.

Many of our staff are engaged in community volunteer activities that reflect their personal values and interests (for example, owner Curtus was a minor hockey coach for over 13 years). Our company community commitment is primarily centred around youth in general and youth sports in particular.

Reliable Auto Body supports the Comox Valley Child Development Association (CVCDA) in various ways. One initiative we’ve been involved with for many years is Russ and Sharon Nelson’s volunteer Kindling for Kids fundraiser. Our role is to be the storage and pickup area where customers can collect their large bags of high-quality kindling for $30 a bag. Most of the money raised goes to the CVCDA and a portion goes to the Canucks for Kids fund.

Other organizations that we support include the Lake Trail school lunch program, the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Vancouver Children’s Hospital, local youth sports teams like the Vanier basketball team, the Glacier Kings, the Robotics Club. During the pandemic, we did lots of giveaways to help support local businesses.

We also participate in the Trades Sampler work experience program for high school students from School District 71 (Comox Valley Schools) who are interested in the auto body field. We provide these students with valuable work experience during their Grade 11 or Grade 12 year.
